Waiting for offer letter?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:49 pm

I received a sort-of-offer verbally a few weeks ago but have not seen anything in writing yet. The verbal offer didn't contain any specifics but to me it all but seemed like a done deal. How long is too long to follow up on this?

I think 1.5-2 weeks is standard “it’s ok to follow-up time,” at least in my neck of the woods. It’s your life. You’re allowed to know where it is or isn’t heading. Weird and unprofessional for them to give a verbal offer and leave you hanging for weeks.

Check out the book Big Law Confidential for inside info on Big Law hiring practices for summer associates--process, timing, etc.
