Anyone else surprised with the new managing partner? Really thought it was going to be someone younger or diverse.
That's idiotic. It was clearly Greg Shu forever--the other options (Orr, Lovitt, etc.) were all too old, or didn't have experience in the right areas. No reason to think Greg won't do an excellent job.

It's JD, lol. Lower your expectations. Will probably be another 20 years before they learn that people other than white guys can lead law firms.
Is it too shocking to consider perhaps they picked the best eligible person? Or does it just HAVE to not be a white person for you to be happy?
“They” didn’t pick anyone. It was only Brogan.
Brogan's pronouns are they/them/theirs, so "they" certainly did.

Newsflash, pal. Greg is white and therefore cannot do an excellent job. Read the room.

Think we’ll see any layoffs? Been slow for the past month, won’t hit hours (junior anssociate) and am stressing about it.

Could someone confirm whether the midwest offices (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, etc.) pay associates less than larger market offices (NY, DC, etc.), even if you have a T14 background and clearly have the credentials to go to a different firm in a larger market?
