It's all the same, just go where you think you'll fit in the best.

For culture Milbank will be better than W&C, just check out posts around here trashing their summer program and partners recently. Then Milbank is much better ranked than Wilkie.

These posts are highly misguided..
Its probably written by law students.
Willkie is a much stronger firm in nyc in terms of transactional. Every practicing corporate lawyer in new york would agree.
The "rank" you are referring to is probably vault ranking, which is a stupid metric to base your decision on. Milbank used to be a v50 firm but only got up to v11 due to the recent salary raise. Many associates decided to give it a 10 thanks to Milbank being a compensation leader.
This is what happens if you choose a firm based on vault. If you are into ny corporate, Willkie is in a different league. Choose Milbank only if you are into project finance, and W&C if you are into cross border work. Otherwise, for general corporate, Willkie is a clear winner.

People voting for Milbank is probably due to Vault. Please be aware that Milbank's vault ranking used to be v40-50, but only recently arose to v11 due to Milbank's recent salary increase. Many attorneys rated Milbank very high because of that.
