Great litigation practice, smaller than the other top firms in the city (Kirkland/Jenner/Sidley/Latham/JD). Smaller = more selective - 3.9+ is sufficient, 3.8+ necessary. Heard through the grapevine from summer associates that they're only taking 1-2 lit 2L summers for next year, so 3.9+ from a T13 is probably going to be necessary for this cycle. Smaller also = more focused area of expertise - I've heard securities lit is big for them. Also heard they don't have many cases in areas outside of their expertise. Talk to a litigation attorney at MB if you're interested in that.

For corporate, they're a top shop just behind Kirkland/Sidley/Latham/Skadden. Also helps they have more of a Chi focus than Skadden, and depending on how you view things, Latham.

Culture wise, they're pretty generic biglaw. I get the sense they like to take folks that think they're really smart, but are generally nice.
