Shearman callback to offer wait time?

Post by jdyaln11 » Thu Feb 18, 2021 3:13 pm

I had a callback interview last Tuesday and haven't heard anything yet. I have heard of some people that have been dinged or received offers. What does it mean that I haven't heard yet? Am I on some sort of waitlist or has anyone else experienced this kind of wait time before receiving an offer from Shearman in NY?

I'm actually in the same exact position! I think it's good if you haven't been dinged yet. It's very likely we're on waiting lists, where the firm is waiting for existing offers to expire. Hang in there.

Same situation, with a slightly longer timeline. Very anxious to hear regardless of outcome; I really liked everyone I met with.

You should choose another law firm if you can. They stealth second and even first-year associates.

Glad to hear I'm not alone. Have you also heard of people that have had callbacks that were subsequently dinged? Best of luck to you!

You too - stay positive! I haven't, but only because I don't know many people who have interviewed with the firm. This happened to me with a different firm, though. It took almost 2 weeks, but I was extended an offer and my sense is they might have been waiting to see if pending offers expired or were declined.

Has anyone seen any movement? Still nothing here from NYC after 3 weeks. Pretty crestfallen.

I'm in the same boat. I was told decisions were being finalized today, but no news yet.

They gave you a hard date? That's really interesting. Appreciate the insight.
