February 2010 LSAT - 50 days and counting.

Perhaps this is a bit premature, but considering the importance of this exam, one can never prepare too early. There are 126 days left till the Feb. 6 LSAT. I'm new to studying for this test and would love some advice that wasn't found in Pithypyke's guide or Ken's posts. I am allotting 2 hours per day until the last two months and kicking it up to 3-4 for study time including a PS class during Dec-Feb. I am hoping that by taking the test early next year, it will give me enough breathing time to get my LORs together and really plan out what I hope to achieve in applying next fall.

BTW, hello TLS. I've been lurking for far too long to not make the jump and begin posting.

I am debating between the February LSAT and June...depending on how I feel I may be in the same boat as you. Good Luck!

Best of luck! Although it sounds like an eternity, 126 days can go by really quickly. So make good use of your time. :D

Being sick is definitely having an effect on regimented study habits but I'm doing my best. Thanks for the comments~

TUP - The reason I chose to take the LSAT in Feb is that it is nowhere near finals. This gives me enough time should I make small errors, (god forbid) to retake in June or even September at the latest. I would like to have the stressful aspect of the process done as early as possible giving me more time to craft my PS and gather other materials needed for applying. I know the fear of the February LSAT is that a person can't find out which questions they missed but my goal is to prep myself well enough to know right away if I missed a question while taking the test. 125 days to go... :) See you there!

QFT

No matter how much studying may frustrate you at times, this part is definitely the worst.

For many, the worst part is the period after getting their scores.

This must mean the LSAT itself was not very painful for you.

Except for the certifying statement and biographical section, that was the best part of this entire process.

I occasionally have a hard time staying focused with so much reading taking place between my senior year and studying for this LSAT. How do you all stay on top of it? I feel burnt out after a few hundred pages of reading per day and have been doing this for a while. Those PowerScore books are dense :?

I am signed up and paid. Depends on how I feel I may try the Dec test also. Unfortunately I have 4 wks of intense training all the way across the country which starts the 4th of January, which is another reason I may try in December.

How about a 30 hour work week, school, divorce proceedings and LSAT prep. Oh yeah, and surgery in a few days. I think it is safe to say that anyone on these boards is suffering to a degree.

You are right about the scheduling of study time. I just set up an audio proctor and will be living in the library when available from here on out. :)

124 days left...

Are you people applying for the 2010 or 2011 cycle?

2011, figure I'll take the Feb. LSAT, go to the Feb. Law School forums in San Francisco take a nice 8 months to perfect my application package, and send it out exactly 1 year from now. The Feb. LSAT just seems like a logical choice, that way If I manage to eff it up for any multitude of unforseeable reasons I can retake in June and still have 4-5 months before applications open. It's a stressful process, my goal is to make it as stress free as it can possibly be.

Ah, I am hoping to score well in December and apply as soon as I get my score, but some schools have March deadlines, so I may consider February if I must. :?

2011 year but need to finalize my package for the Coast Guard this spring.

If they select me then the school is free and I get to play student for 3 years on pay. I figure I can manage that.
