52 was a meltdown, and I'm taking 56 tomorrow morning. I'm excited but nervous. I need to get at least a 166, but I would sure like a 170.
Why a 166?

less than a 166 would make it difficult to go to a school i would like to attend

Gotcha.

I was going to say... maybe it's time to revise your list of target schools in an upwardly direction!

(originally posted as a new topic, but I decided it fits better in this thread)

I just wanted to voice my agreement with TLSers who claim that taking a break from studying can be a good way to fight burnout. I was stuck plateauing at 165-166 for five tests in a row, took a day off, and jumped up to 170.

I was planning to take my last PT on Friday, but I think I will refrain.

I didn't think PT53 was any different than PT51, 54, or 55 in terms of over-all difficulty, but there are definitely differences in the individual sections.

PT 53: 161
PT 54: 166

lol
Same here:
PT 53: 167
PT 54: 170

my last three tests have been:

PT51: 166
PT55: 166
PT56: 166
PT57: ??? (tomorrow)

I'm thinking if this trend follows through sat I will be very happy on score release day. Oh, gosh, I really hope these are accurate predictors!!

Finally popped 170 -- on PT 53 (Dec. 2007) of all things.

After nibbling at 169 for the better part of a month, followed by a two-week burnout decline (down to 163 at its lowest), I took two days off, had a beer or two, slept in. When I came back, it happened. I wish I could tell you how or why, folks.

I'm planning on a few days of light review, and then, Saturday, great things. At this point, it's an issue of performance, not preparation.

That's the rumor. It has at least one tricky RC passage, LR is little above average in difficulty, and there's the (arguably overrated) dinosaur game.

FWIW, I scored my average on PT57.

PT56

LG -1 (on the first, easiest game, LOL?)
LR -5 (always the first section, always)
LR -1 (yes!)
RC -3 (best RC score on recent PTs ever!!!)

raw: 90
scaled: 171

It feels unbelievable to finally break 170 after floating around 168/169. This is my final PT before the real deal on Saturday, and what a confidence booster this test was. Good luck to everyone on Saturday.

Sept 2007 (PT 52)
MISSED NO LR WHATSOEVER.
YOWZA! (lol)

But despite reviewing RC for the past few days i missed 6!
and ran out of time for 3 lg (which i guessed wrong)

(My experimental was an RC from june 2005 which I only missed one on -- YESS!)
This section was also done while people were being loud in a room that does not allow talking and while I was getting majorly annoyed (I talked myself into calming down).

90/99 = 171 (I'm still lovin' it. Good to be back in the 170+ and I KNOW I can hit 172-178 on test day!!)

I have tons of hope for 9/26 - WE CAN DO IT!

PS - I won't be back until 9/26 or 9/27 on TLS so I'll talk to you guys then!! Good Luck

Best of luck to the departing JJ and lawduder!! I'm taking my final PT tonight, I'll post the results but then I'm also peacing out from TLS until next week. Here's hoping I too will have one last boost before test day!

Same, I'm finishing PT56 tonight and then I'm off of TLS until probably the end of October-ish. I can't handle all of the speculation and arguing over right/wrong answers, and people undermining each other's confidences. Yikes.

I just took it today and absolutely bombed it. I don't know even know what the hell happened. Not only did I have trouble with the Dino game but also with the other games as well. LR was probably the worst i've done in 10 PTs. The only section I absolutely excelled on was RC (tied for my best).

This is actually a good idea, I'll need to get back on once I get my score to ask some questions about potentially EDing but other than that I should probably take a breather to work on my essays and applications. It's amazing how much time I waste on here!

mmm well hopefully I won't let its reputation get me all paranoid!

We'll see tomorrow how it goes. Usually I bank on a solid LG section and if this game does throw me off, then my score will be off.

Definitely don't let it throw you off. There were several posts I just read of people saying they got their highest score yet on 57. Also, no one seems to be able to agree on whether or not the LR and RC were easy or hard.

PT54 today. (-3 CR, 0 LG, -5 LR; 93; 172). Made 3 idiotic mistakes in LR, all of them "early" in the section (1-10).

Not entirely pissed off about the result though since it was my first PT in a while but sincerely hoping that on test day I won't make any careless mistakes like I did today. For the record, 96 would have been 176. FML.

57 isn't difficult aside from one weird game, some odd LR language in both sections, and that fucking fractal geometry RC (I still can't understand that shit). 56 and 57 are very similar in most respects now that I've taken both.

Interesting. I dropped 9 points from 57 to 56.

Other than the Dino game, you didn't find the others a little bit unusual.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
