advice for new people on buying practice tests

if you're just getting started, i would highly recommend buying old preptests from Amazon. I had originally planned to take the LSAT last year. I ordered a ton of materials from LSAC and they never came. three months later (some big shit happened in my life and i was in no position to call LSAC about some freaking preptests) I called and the guy on the phone was REALLY mean. he said, "why are you calling me? that was three months ago." i said, "it wasn't my highest priority and some bad stuff happened i had to deal with, but here i am now, and something i paid a lot of money for was never delievered to me. that matters, please, will you help me?" "well it shows here we sent it on the 3rd so i really can't do anything. sorry, bye."

and that was basically it. like 50 bucks, gone.

on the contrary, buying from amazon is VERY fast. especially if you do expedited shipping, which isn't too expensive. if you click on "new and used from..." there are tests for a lot cheaper that haven't been written in. anyway, i give my full recommendation to amazon for studying materials and the preptests are definitely the best and the core way to study for the test. buy as many as you're willing to take.

I love ordering through amazon as well. The only problem is that they're often out of stock of certain items, especially since we're currently in an LSAT rush period. That sucks about your $50.

I'm not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, but exactly how does one acquire the 4 for 3 deal on Amazon? (4 of the combined books - 10 Actual, 10 More, The Next Ten, etc.) Do you just put the 4 in your shopping cart or is it separate deal that you have to find?

I've heard the Amazon 4 for 3 is the best, I just don't know exactly how to get it.

Thanks!

Gator, you just have to add the four to your cart and it'll take the discount off.

On the items that do qualify for the 4 for 3 discount, there will be an offer on the page of that item the suggests so. I do not believe the LSAT anthologies have this offer on their page.

you should really check http://www.cambridgelsat.com for PDF pricing before you go any further. You may end up paying less with that option. It was something I found out about (thanks to kind people here) only after I had already bought most of the PTs out there.

ok. one last stupid question. on amazon for the 4 for 3 deal...what would the 4th book consist of? (Obviously there's the 10 Actual, 10 More, and the Next 10) What's would the fourth be? Is there a book with prep test 39 -- something? Sorry, I know I'm probably missing something obvious.

It would be extremely unethical to find them on bittorrent.

None of the books of ten qualify for the 4 for 3 deal. After the books of ten lsac started only to publish single tests to increase sales. So if you had single tests to your cart you get 1 free for pretty much every 3 you buy.
