For some reason (because I enjoy it) I majored in Spanish and Philosophy, so unless I want to become a professor, I don't know what occupation I will decide on. I could say "Oh I realized I really want to just teach Spanish Literature." or lie and say I had some spiritual experience and didn't want to dedicate my life to lawyerdom and have decided to become a struggling artist.

What are you guys' alternate plans if law school doesn't work out? Doesn't it seem like the end of the world?

I would get a job.

Actually, I was just trying to be a sarcastic SOB. I will retake in October if necessary.

After that, Cooley.

Lol, no score, just a big giant "F" where your 120-180 number should be.

I would probably go into I-banking or real estate development.

It's impossible to fail the LSAT.

Poor performance on the LSAT doesn't necessarily mean you're not going to law school. If you're unhappy with your score, tell people you didn't do as well on your first LSAT as you had hoped, and that you're going to study and take it again.

Further, if you really want to be a lawyer, there will be a school that accepts you, regardless of your LSAT.

Why not just go to Cooley right off the bat? I mean, they are after all ranked #16 which is higher than Berkley and Stanford. Who cares that the ranking was conducted by Cooley itself? lmfao --LinkRemoved--

(1) Retake in October.

(2) If October also goes badly, choose a different career path.

What the hell is this? How does Cooley pull this off with a straight face?

University of Chicago is like 36th, hahaha.

I wonder if Cooley is interested in diversity?

"A Diverse student body to reflect a Diverse society.

DIVERSE"

Oh.

If I don't do well enough on this test to get a full ride to a decent school, I will make another career choice. I think being a financial planner is appealing, or something else in finance.

Edit: I'm already long out of college and in the IT field.

If i don't do as well as I'd like, then I will alter my reaches/targets appropriately. Going to a strong regional school will still leave plenty of career opportunities, they just won't be as glamorous.

What happened to try try again?

And to put it bluntly, with those majors, it's either law school or teaching (shudders).

I feel like I need to try for law school before I pursue education (which I would love to do, by the way). It's in my blood or something.

If the LSAT thing doesn't work out, I'm considering becoming a children's librarian. That's also my backup career for when I get into the legal profession and (seemingly inevitably) decide I hate it and want to get out.

I already know that I did as well as I am ever going to do on the June test. If it's not in the cards for me, there is no point in doing something that isn't right for me.

I'm more intrigued by the "law school or bust" crowd.

If you think you will hate it, why do it in the first place?

That's exactly why I chose not to go to school last fall to a very good school, but with a lot of debt. I'll only go if I don't have to pay for it. I think I will like law, but if I don't, then I can do what I want after school and not worry about $100,000 in debt over my head. And I can also have the legal career I truly want, instead of doing some kind of law I hate just to pay the bills.

Oh, I was mostly joking. I don't think I'll hate it, and I certainly hope I won't hate it, but I think the statistics show that most lawyers do end up hating it, so I want to be mentally prepared for that possibility. And like you, I will take it into account when I decide what school I will attend and with how much scholarship money.

Luckily my major is a pretty good backup plan...although I would much rather go into law than stay in my major.

Well, you have that part down...

If I "fail", I'll first be kicked by the mechanic at work, as his threatening message the day of the test so stated. Then either I'll look at lower down schools or choose a new career. My choices: 1)Neuropsychologist; 2)Chef. Let's hope I get to keep cooking as a hobby...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
