Top Law Schools

Hello, I am currently a paralegal at a small litigation firm in Wisconsin. Previously, I had gone to cooley law school (I know it was a disaster) I was academically dismissed, three years ago. I had problems adjusting to being away from home and was in a deep depression, where I came close to ending my life twice. In the meantime, I completed a paralegal certificate and have been employed for 2 years full time. But this work is unsatisfying. It is mind numbingly boring. The law clerks I work with are all extremely smart. I just keep getting that itch to go back to a better law school (NOT COOLEY, NOT EVEN ON A FULL SCHOLARSHIP with a LSAT of 163 as per their website)

My LSAT last time was a lowly 138. I sucked at logic games and LR. I still have the trainer and the bibles (are these outdated now? I have the 2009 editions)
My debt from Cooley is staggering (86K) and I am barely getting by. I am single and have no dependents and nothing but time on my hands after work. I work from 8:30-5 P.M.
I am currently making $16 an hour and everything gets swallowed by the debt and rent.

I have never wanted to do anything else besides be a lawyer. I would like to into corporate or environmental law.

I am just scared of failing out again. My goal for the LSAT is a 160 and up. I'm not sure when I'll take it, but am shooting for December.

It seems through browsing these forums that the credited response for the following are

LG- 7sage and PS Bible
RC- Trainer?
LR- Trainer and PS Bible.
I also still have some of the Cambridge drill packets.

Hey, I don't think you've received any replies yet because there aren't really any questions here. If you're looking for recommendation on study materials, there are a lot of good resources on these fora -- as you mentioned, The Trainer, Manhattan, and Powerscore are generally regarded to be the best resources out there.

Before you jump back into it, though, I'd take time to consider what, if anything, has changed in the past two years that would help you be more successful than your last attempt. You'll likely still be away from home, and the stress of law school is the same as it was then. Make sure you're taking care of yourself first and foremost, and don't get hung up on the fact that you've always wanted to be a lawyer. If you find your paralegal work mind numbingly boring, being an attorney may not be the best fit after all. You'll also probably want to seek out advice on reapply post-dismissal. I'm sure that requires a specific strategy, and I'm unqualified to offer any advice on that process.

I'm not sure if someone who could only score a 138 and failed out of Cooley should go to law school. Regardless, you won't get to apply with a fresh LSAT as a new student. You would have to apply as a transfer, and good luck transfering anywhere decent after failing out at Cooley.

Hey OP, I mean the this with no disrespect. I am so happy you have been able to figure out some of the stuff that was hurtful a few years ago, but the law school ship has sailed. You completed a year of law school, you will not be able to hide from your transcript. Unfortunately, you failed out of one of the worst law schools in history.

If you don't like being a paralegal, have you considered completely different work? Take some night classes, maybe try programming or something. But your law school ship has sailed.

Hate to be blunt, but law school is not for you. It doesn't even sound like you enjoy working in the legal profession. You were academically dismissed from arguably one of the worst law schools and there is roughly a 0% chance of going back to law school and living a better life because of it. Do something else with your life, sorry.
