I did the same and fucked my confidence. Going to do another tom to get my head straight.creed wrote:Took a PT way too late tonight while still not fully well and scored a 171. A little annoyed because I haven't dipped below 173 for a month or so. Planning to PT tomorrow. If it goes well, I may make it my last before Saturday.

Man jumping to PT79 was a mistake. 170 despite going -0 on LG is a real confidence killer! Some of the dumbest LR mistakes imaginable. For sure taking one tom... here's to ending on a high note.

Tentatively sticking my neck out to say, I know TLSers put a lot of pressure on perfection on the LSAT but I've found it helpful lately to remember a 170+ is a 95+ percentile scores. Idk perspective may not help everyone but as someone at a no-name public university (where 11 people out of 500 applicants made a 170+ last year) it helped boost my confidence to realize how much work I had put in has already set me apart from my peers to such a significant degree.
Good luck on Saturday!

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
Took my last PT today before Saturday's adventure
PT 81
95/101 for a 173
RC: -1
LR1: -3
LR2: -1
LG: -1
Obviously not quite as awesome as my 179 last Friday, but I feel pretty solid heading into Saturday. My PT average over the past month (8 PTs total) is a 172.5, and my average in the past five tests is a 173.8. Now I just need to rest and overcome the slight head cold that I've been struggling with the last two days.
My goal for Saturday is 173+ so I know that it just a matter of execution at this point. This has been quite a journey, and I can't wait to hear how everyone's next few days goes!

I'd go with 80. I've been recommending that people try 81 despite the blow to confidence but I just did it myself and I wish I didn'tcaramelizedgod wrote:Thinking of doing my last pt tom, anyone wanna suggest one take? Thinking 80 but any suggestions are welcome.
171 on 81, had a 178 and 179 on PT 79 and PT 80 - was partially the curve and partially idiotic mistakes on LG (again). Not sure what's happening there, used to consistently get -0 but have been having trouble recently, even with PT 81's comparatively easy section

although my last PT was a 166 (which honestly should've been higher considering the questions I missed in LR were extremely careless and dumb errors that should never happen) I'm feeling pretty confident about saturday!

Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but how do you know where you are writing if your test is at a college or university? In my LSAC account, it just says the name of the school but doesn't include the building or room # or anything...

There should be a more specific location on your admission ticket.GnarMarBinx wrote:Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but how do you know where you are writing if your test is at a college or university? PT 81 is stooopiddd.
-7 for a 172
-5 on LR alone.
This definitely isn't the norm for me. Usually my LR is around -2/-3 total. Did anyone else think the LR on that test was particularly tough?

I did pretty average on LR (-4) and made a sloppy mistake on the last question of game 2, but it was the harsh scale that got me.blackmamba8 wrote:PT 81 is stooopiddd.

I'm hoping we have a slightly harder LG and similar RC/LR on Saturday with a more forgiving scale

I took 80 today and did extremely well. I think it is a great test.. Would be happy if our exam sat was very much like this, although id hope the curve is a little more favorable ;PAnon-e-miss wrote:80 is the movecaramelizedgod wrote:Thinking of doing my last pt tom, anyone wanna suggest one take? For everyone who works out in the mornings, are you going to work out Saturday or skip?

Gang Gang! Btw, Ive been following your routine of building up (by drills) to PTs (the 3 day cycle + some margs randomly tossed in) and it seems to work, so I think I may just drill tomorrow. Last 3 PTs have been 175, 176, 177 respectively so i doubt doing another PT will do much.. I just want to be ready to go and warmed up come saturday, but not over do it. I was thinking it will benefit me from a stamina point of view if anything,.Barry grandpapy wrote:Just wait for PT 82 on Saturday broRupert Pupkin wrote:I took at PT today but before today hadnt since Sat because of the hurricane. Im currently debating this. I have MOST the time done some cardio in the AM before i took PTs and always felt a little more relaxed and clearly focused during them.chewinggum wrote:For everyone who works out in the mornings, are you going to work out Saturday or skip?

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
I don't really work out anymore because I'm a lazy SOB. But when I used to work out a lot, i preferred the AM. For cardio I loved doing it as soon as I woke up. Anything else didn't matter what time though.
The gym I used to go to was ALWAYS packed as soon as it opened and it was a pain in the ass. So for cardio I had started to just go for an outdoor jog.
Would like to get back into working out, but again, I'm lazy
