so i took the lsat first in 2015 (october), then twice in 2016 (september & december). it looks like i'll have to apply next cycle or the one after that, mostly due to reasons and circumstances not concerning my scores. but i am disappointed with them. according to lsac's regulations you are not allowed to take the test more than three times in any two year period. am i still eligible to take another lsat in 2017?

my scores are in the mid 160's. i'm considering a fourth take because 1) i have the time 2) i'm certain that with more strategic studying i can break 170. i'm an urm and a woman, 3.7 gpa. i'm in my first year out of college. is it worth a shot?

you can take a fourth time in October of this year since your first take was oct 15. if you can break a higher score, then yeah go for it.

Dude. If you are going to do this, you had best take a step back and give yourself a frank assessment of why your previous efforts saw no appreciable increase in score.

If you use the same study approach again you are going to waste your time.

The LSAT later this year is again in September rather than October. I don't know if they'll consider it within the two year window or not. They shouldn't, since it's still the same cycle, but that's just my opinion. You'd definitely be allowed to take the December LSAT but that is kind of late, and the impression I get from others on this site is that the earlier you apply the better your chances are.

Yeah, OP you might want to contact LSAC about this and ask them about the whole September/October dilemma. That is of course, if you decide to take it during that time.

December isn't late, it's just not early. Better to apply later with a strong LSAT than earlier with a weaker one.

of course. i'm not unaware; it's shameful that i took it three times without much improvement. i am doing a reassessment, and examining precisely how ineffective my study methods were.

you shouldn't be discouraged and can certainly get to your target score even now.

sometimes it just doesn't click even after multiple takes due to nervousness, anxiety etc. do a frank assessment but don't let the number of takes deter you.
