Does taking the test twice negatively affect you?

I got my score back today and it was really disappointing. It was my first time taking it, but I want to take it in December because I know I can do better. I wanted to know however if taking it twice will negatively affect my chances of getting in?

No, it doesn't. Schools don't average & thus, just care about your highest grade.

Brah, I took the test 3 times last time I had applied, went pretty much according to MyLSN except for two probably-shoulda-been-accepted-but-waitlisted-instead.

Improving at all would outweigh any theoretical, microscopic negative effect of retaking. (If there were such a thing as a negative effect. But there isn't.)
There is no downside to retaking.
