Hi all

I got a 166 in October 2015 and am signed up for June. I've been pretty consistently good at LR, but got a lot more than normal wrong on October (like 9-11) and just took PT77 and got a 165, getting a total of nine wrong in LR. I had taken all of the PTs leading up to these tests and never had this problem. Has anyone else noticed this difference or is it just me?

Additionally, what do you think the likelihood of LSAT including another logic game zinger on the June test as they did in December?

So my favorite spiel is about how the LSAT is getting different, because it is. While I base this on no real evidence, I think it intuitively makes sense. Test takers are getting smarter/better at studying for the test, so the test makers consistently have to change the test in order to keep it reliably standard from one year to the next.

That being said, I think the LR in 77 was slightly different (the dolphin question was definitely unusual), but not exceptionally so. As a whole the 70s LR are somewhat different from their predecessors in that the correct answers seem just slightly less correct, making it easier to fall into traps. Still definitely learnable though, especially if you have a solid foundation.

As for your final question, I think the likelihood of another LG zinger is extremely high. Take some time and practice some of these https://www.powerscore.com/lsat/help/lg ... -games.cfm (Zephyr, CDs [and also the 4th game in that section], dinosaurs of course, and some of the 20s have some tough ones) in addition to 77 and 72's LG sections, and then expect something like this to show up on the 6th. One of the hardest things about these games is that they make you freeze up because you've never seen anything like it before. If you learn to expect it, it can't paralyze you come test day. None of these are unconquerably hard, you just have to get used to them.

Thanks for your detailed response. I took a powerscore course last year and have done all those complicated LGs, and sometimes I do weird zinger games very easily, but sometimes they just don't click, and since there are so many forms this anomaly game can take on, I worry that I will have to waste precious time on the test day acclimating to the game. it's frustrating that it's so hard to prepare for.

And unusually enough, I barely had time to even think of the dolphin question, since it was the last Q of the test for me. that's also rare, i've had PTs where I have ten minutes remaining in the section and do okay.
