I just finished my sophomore year of college, and I have a 3.51 GPA. I'm hoping to graduate with around a 3.6 or maybe close to a 3.7 if I do very well.

Because my GPA isn't stellar, I know I need to do quite well on the LSAT, probably a 168 or better I'm guessing to have a chance to crack the top 14.

I just took my first LSAT ever, I am familiar with the test and have looked over some sections, but I haven't done any studying at all.

I scored a 155 all set and done. I got -3 and -5 in both LR sections, I got -5 in RC, and -20 in logic games.

Honestly, for the logic games, I made it through the first game and got it right, but the others I had no idea what to do on so I just gave up and assumed I would get all of them wrong. I have heard that this is the most learnable section on the test, but is it reasonable to expect myself to go from getting -19 to -0-2 even with a lot of preparation?

With a diagnostic like mine, is there hope to score a 168 or above, or maybe even a 170?

Games is definitely learnable, with several months of practice you can fairly easily score under -5 on LG just from learning the different types of set-ups and basic deductions. That would bring you to right around your target score. Spend the summer grinding on LSAT and you should be in good shape. FWIW, the first time I took the LSAT I went from a 155 diag to a 164 test day hardly studying, and the second time I took it two and a half years later, I worked my ass off and went from a 158 diag to a 173 test day. So while it's definitely possible my guess is it will take a fair amount of hard work for several months to get the outcome you want.

I diag'd at 155 and got a 170, and I had been practice-testing a few points higher than that. It's certainly doable.

Your GPA is a problem. You're going to need to start getting a lot more consistent with your coursework if you want to put a high LSAT to much use.

Definitely. Your Lr and rc are fairly impressive for a diagnostic, and lg is the easiest section to learn if you repeatedly are on top of doing games. With hard work, I think you can score in the 170's honestly. My diagnostic was like a 145(?) if I remember correctly, and atm I'm practice testing around 167. Definitely doable, you just need to work hard for it. Study for a year and take the LSAT June 2017 at the end of your junior year, that is, if you're planning on going straight to law school.
