Hey guys,

I've started to prep for the September LSAT and have begun assembling my prep materials. I've heard from a lot of people that drilling various kinds of questions after learning the fundementals should go before taking the preptests en masse. However, I did not know that the Cambridge packets were discontinued. The ones I can find online go for absolutely crazy prizes. So I'm wondering, are there any alternatives to the packets or do I have to use online guides for the individual questions and find them in my preptests?

Yeah people sell the Cambridge packets for so much now, it's ridiculous! But if you can some how find one for a decent price on amazon or ebay then definitely go for that. If not then yeah, use a guide that shows you the question types for each preptest.

I just ordered Powerscore's Game Type Training and Question-Type( LR) books. They include PT's 1-20 sorted by type. Waiting for them in the mail, so I cannot give a thorough review on how they are, but I would imagine they are great.

Own the question type book. Use it everyday. Pretty good stuff. Nothing fancy but, in a world without Cambridge packets, it's a good as you're going to get.

Thats good to hear! I look forward to starting mine. I am expecting it to come in the mail tomorrow. Are you drilling with it as you progress through those Type-questions in the Bibles?

No, I'm a June LSAT writer, so I've been studying for the test since January. I used the Bibles until late Feb (which is how long it took me to get out of my LR and LG "diapers"), and now I'm doing almost exclusively prep tests/blind review. I input my prep test outcomes into 7sage's analytics and when I start to see a "red bubble" start to float away on me, I drill that type of question until I see it come back down.

So, I guess I use the book as a tourniquet for when I spot arterial bleeding trend lines in my LR performance.

Alright. Thats the setup I plan to follow. Did you use any alternative content material while doing preptests/drilling?

Alternative content? Uh no I don't think so. I did use PithyPike's method on Logic Games where you make a bunch of copies of each logic game and then time yourself taking them and then corrected/reviewed them with 7sage. I'm not exactly where I'd like to be with LG's (my average is a -3.8 per section) but it was a solid way to break through a plateau that seems to exist at the end of the Logic Game Bible where you're going -2 or so per game (-8 total). Seems a decent way to go.
