i had improved my LR to -3 total on the new tests over the summer, but I took a fresh pt-78 and went total -5, -2 mainly due to not having enough time for 26q section. i think rn the only way i can finish the section well is by not going through all choices for at least the main conclusion, NA, SA, and MBT/MSS questions.

Yeah... still seems to be sort of a bad inference IMO... it seems quite reasonable and likely that island life would be less stressful than city life, but c'est la vie.appind wrote:i think "tends to" at least prevents it being from a full throttle causation. lmao, I took an hour and 40 minute nap yesterday afternoon and that translated to me being wide awake until 2 am. Managed to finally fall asleep at around 3, only getting four hours of sleep. Still taking pt 78 today tho. lmbo. BRING IT!

Okay awesome, yeah thats what it was for the GMAT. Ill look over some tips tomorrow and maybe do one to have fun lolInstrumental wrote:I did practice essays at the very beginning of my studies. I had a Barron preptest book that outlined a formulaic approach and after doing it a few times I was writing out essays in like 15 minutes. lmfao. I'd say it's a good idea to at least give it a look over just so you know what you're getting into, but it's seriously nothing to stress over. Think of it as a victory lap.jagerbom79 wrote:Anyone doing any practice Essays? Haha Okay! Thanks for the insight- I will do something similar to this. I tend to write well in pressure situations so Im not entirely worried.34iplaw wrote:I did one last night. They seem all super formulaic, and, apparently, you actually get really limited space. I think it's just one page back and front. You can bang it out in like 15 minutes or 20 minutes pretty easily. I think you just spend 5 minutes picking your side and roughly what you want to say, like a brief outline.jagerbom79 wrote:Anyone doing any practice Essays? ( I know its not a big deal, but Im very A-Type sometimes and want to make sure im prepared) -- I haven't done or looked at one yet though.
Then spend 15 or 20 minutes banging it out and snooze for the last ten.
I'm just doing (probably)
Intro - pick side and state two metrics/goals
weighing in on goal/metric one (one that seems less critical if there is one or the one that doesn't allow for as emphatic of a case)
weighing in on goal two (the one that is more critical if there is one or the one that allows for the more emphatic case)
conclusion / intro the deux
Oh, just don't blindly write. If you aren't sure about spelling, just use a synonym. I don't think there's any advantage to dropping your favorite four syllable word that you can't spell correctly.

Thats the worst! I have been on/off that schedule this past week. I tend to get a second wind in the later evenings. Last night I was able to knockout at 10:45 but I slept in this morning... at least I will be rested. This week was brutal in schoolInstrumental wrote:lmao, I took an hour and 40 minute nap yesterday afternoon and that translated to me being wide awake until 2 am. Idk why it took me so long to realize this, but our test is PT 79 and 79 is one of my lucky numbers. Used to race MX with it back in the day! LETS GET IT!!!!

I've consistently scored at or above what I want and I'm not trying to make any major changes in these couple days leading up to the test. Any final prep that might be helpful? Any thought on prepping for the writing sample, worth it or not?

Don't devote any meaningful time to it - I mean know what the prompt is like but that's all you really need. After all your prep I think you know how to make a well-structured argument! I found I structured mine like an LSAT argument in the June administration, as I had just spent the last ~3 hours evaluating those arguments.theorangewon wrote:I've consistently scored at or above what I want and I'm not trying to make any major changes in these couple days leading up to the test. Untimed, unscored practice. I shat the bed on PT75 earlier this week (-5 RC, I think you can relate, yeah???), and have since just done untimed sections, some without even scoring. You know you have the fundamentals down, just stay loose. It's all a head game now.SweetTort wrote:Any tips on rebuilding your shattered confidence? Haha

Is anyone taking the LSAT in Puerto Rico?
We've had a power outage for the last couple of days and the State just declared a state of emergency.
I have no idea if we will have power by Saturday, so I'm not sure if our tests will be postponed.
Does anyone have an idea?

... Do we need to enter our entire SIN into the bubble sheet or just the last 4 digits?
Got two bubble sheets in front of me. One asks for the entire, one for just the last 4 digits. (I'm asking because my entire SIN is not memorized atm.)
Also, there's no guarantee that that you'll be able to use the restroom on break, right? So, if there's a 10 person line up at the end of the 15 min break, you're outta luck?

I dunno, I can't really see that being a huge issue at most test centers or larger ones at the very least. In worst case, try to figure out where the 2nd closest bathroom is and just beeline for there.

I typically just do breathing meditation. Just close your eyes and try to focus only on your breathing...in and out. the second your mind goes to anything other than your breath, just rein it back in and focus on breathing again. This is the most simple method which is why I like it...it can be done anywhere.appind wrote:what exactly do you do to meditate? reading stuff out there to meditate only confuses because of the different ways everyone talks about it.ashrice13 wrote:Have you been meditating? I know you talked about it before...if not, that might help. I think that a little bit of nerves is healthy and actually constructive for test day. You just want to get rid of the "freak out" feeling. the way I do that best is simply by distracting myself when I start feeling it. Meditation is a really healthy way to do that if it works for youTheMikey wrote:I was fine, calm and confident the past 2 days about this weekend. But now I'm starting to freak out and worry
Oh my god
Info is tough to find because there are so many different styles and methods. I never got into meditation enough to explore them...I only ever really did it because I took a philosophy class about mindfulness

Having a giant long line at break and not getting to go to the bathroom is seriously one of my biggest fears for test day haha. My ticket has a building name on it so I was gonna scope it out tomorrow and try to find all the bathroomsAlexandros wrote:... I scouted out a secondary bathroom last year and did a big lap through the building to get to it. It was nice to have some privacy and the walk helped me get my head together, but then afterwards I realized that I probably committed a violation by leaving the vicinity. Nobody said anything though.

I was going to truly relax today. I took the day off of work and made it to noon without getting dressed. Apparently we're out of coffee and my caffeine headache forced me out of the house. So close!

ok so i spoke with LSAC about this whole "attachment for the recipient" thing when submitting my transcript electronically and was told to just ignore it and uncheck the box. but now when i uncheck the box, it says that i am not allowed to uncheck it because they require the form. damnit man, why is this so stupid
