How do you BR your RC? Just read them and try to answer them as quick as you can, set a certain time per passage, or? Then redo them untimed for 100% accuracy?TheMikey wrote:Did 2 rc passages during my lunch break. I'm pretty sure I did terrible on them but we will see after I BR them...

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WELCOME JUNE WAITERS
Well I'm not timing myself with RC to be completely honest. Im going with 7sages memory method so it's new to me so I want to get accuracy down before timing. I don't go very slow when I go through the first run but I do try to keep a decent pace but without timing myself. For BR of RC I re read the passage but this time very slowly and I just go through the questions again and make connections with a little note on the side that indicates where in the passage the answer is, and so on.34iplaw wrote:How do you BR your RC? -5 on two LR sections and -4 on a RC section this morning after a month and a half off. Considering I was averaging that for LR and only one question worse on RC before I took the June test I'm a little relieved that I havent lost too much. Still really struggling with games though, gonna give the foolproof method a go I guess

just scored the RC section from PT 28, 4/5 difficulty on 7Sage:
-1
should have gotten -0 but I missed a question I definitely should have gotten right when I looked back over it. the first passage was also the easiest passage I have ever seen.

Did a LR section and went -3 on it. A few were lucky guesses, but it is still improvement! Before this the best I have done was a -4 on LR.
The good thing is that I am starting to pinpoint my weaknesses. And hopefully with some diligence I can eliminate them before the test.
If I can start to go -3 consistently on timed sections of LR, and get LG's down to the same, I will be scoring in the high 160s!

I started seeing slight improvement with RC but the two passages I did earlier just made me feel like I didn't know how to do shit. Maybe they were difficult ones? I'm not sure but I will surely check their difficulty because they were a pain in the ass.

Nice!! I average about 3 or 4 wrong on each timed LR section. So if I can get to that point, anyone can! Lmao. I've procrastinated on attacking must be true questions that use formal logic since they seem to be my weakness but I'll get to it once I see more RC improvement.Barack O'Drama wrote:Did a LR section and went -3 on it. Also a side note for everyone else,
I did 5 evaluate questions earlier ( the only 5 evaluate questions in Cambridges volume 2 by type book) and went -4. JFC, someone help me with these lol, I just don't get them. How do you approach these??? I'll put which ones they are when I get home but as of right now, any tips for them???

Blerghh. Vitamin C, advil, and herbal tea for me. >_>
After work - Going to do another RC section, hopefully a good bulk of ID the flaw questions, some LR mixed review, some LG, and we'll see.

I'm done with House of Cards and Veep. I've seen the West Wing. In search of a new political drama to binge watch.

Really! Damn, that means I'm moving on up to the big leagues with you guys, haha. At this point, I am just really concerned with understanding the ins and outs of ever type of LR game. I'm sick of the inconsistencies in my LR score. I usually average about -6, but I don't have much data to go off.
However, I think the 7Sage course has been helping, because this time I felt more confident in answering the questions for the lessons I've gone over. I was also able to blind review to -1.

It's v much in the same realm as West Wing. Not a life-changing show, but very enjoyable.

Did an RC this morning I'm about to B.R. and went -5, so decently happy with it, definitely trying to get to -3 soon. The -8 on LG for PT 42 though I am not happy with especially cause I ran out of time. I feel with RC even though I had to work harder at it if I leave it for a day or two I'm fine, but if I leave LG for that long I get dinged hard.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WELCOME JUNE WAITERS
Shiiiiit, I wish I were in the big leagues lmao. I really want to get my LR down to -1/-0 per section, my LG on a consistent -0 (timed my average is between about -2/-3, and when BR -0) but I usually redo LG section at least 2 more times so my timing and score is obviously better the 2nd and 3rd time. RC is a mess, I'll get there lmao. 7sage has helped me a lot honestly, I destroyed their LR lessons in a short period of time but I saw a difference in where I was at before and now. LG I haven't gone through all of their stuff since I'm slightly confident with the section, but some games do still screw me up which I need to work on. Their RC lessons are helpful as well, but I feel like RC is more of just doing it on your own to see what approach is best fit for YOU. Like, lately I've been doing 7sages memory method, but I love to quickly circle names when I read over them. This helps me to later on identify a name or group talked about, even though the memory method should be what makes you look at a paragraph over the other for a name/group name, but this is just personal preference.Barack O'Drama wrote:TheMikey wrote:Nice!! De-lurker here,
What's the general consensus on studying for retakers that have blown through most of their studying materials? In other words, is one better served to retake more recent preptests that they've taken early in their studying or to just take fresh preptests even though they may be outdated?
I've gone through tests 52-77 in one way or another but tests up to 38 I haven't touched other than their games sections. Sorry if this has been answered before!

When was your last take? I'm a retaker x2. My second take was in October 15 after June 15 and I started studying again in July. I burned through a decent amount of stuff but I found it wasn't really all that familiar to me and even if it was I barely remembered it. I'm studying for my third take right now and I don't think I remember a thing.Bryzzo2016 wrote:De-lurker here,

Even if you took in June I still think you could benefit from redoing stuff.

In-out games, even with categories, really aren't that bad once you do a few of them. Personally I think in-out games are simple to learn like sequencing games, but that's just me saying that since they're just grouping games but with only 2 groups. You can usually always solve for all possibilities with them, imo. They're not so bad to get used to, trust metofuspeedstar wrote:Getting taken for a ride on these in/out w/ categories games. bah

Decided I'm taking 3 days off, then taking a PT. That way I know whether or not to do prep the day before the LSAT.

I think the consensus is to never prep the weekend of the LSAT. I'd say, at absolute most, do games casually or questions totally casually without checking answers just to keep your mind flexed.SweetTort wrote:Decided I'm taking 3 days off, then taking a PT. As for today...
A bunch of RC... I'm going back to making sure that I get everything without trying to blaze trails at this point. If I don't time myself, I pretty much always finish a passage within 10 minutes. That's too slow for test day, but I don't think there's a point in harming my accuracy intentionally for speed right now. I may explore some options to expedite.
Did 30 LR Strengthening question... I feel like I regressed a little on these unless this is just a harder batch of them. 27/30 so far. Granted, one was kind of a smack my head after type deal, so maybe I'm just overreacting a little.
Starting to make sure that I just have all the games down from the homework. I feel like in games where you have multiple two way associations [i.e. a variable can be present in more than one slot and a slot can have more than one variable] I am pretty comfortable with open ended diagrams.
Just did June 2009 game 4 in eight minutes on my first try 6/6 which I'm pretty pleased with. According to 7sage it's a really hard game... you can't really diagram anything though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
