It depends on what your goal is and what your diagnostic was. If your name is accurate and you're aiming for a180 then you have a long way to go but are doing well.
Just keep in mind that the higher your score gets the harder it gets to make improvements.

Oh, well, in that case, I think you're in a decent spot. A 162 is like ~20 wrong or so, so for a 170 you basically need to get that down to -8 to -10. Essentially you have to get 2x as good as you are now. The jump from the 160s to 170s is rough, but doable.180orDie wrote:The name is tongue in cheek. For you and all other posters here, make sure to do at least all recent PTs / 'weird' games. I don't think the virus was the exception. I think a weird game will be the norm from now on. (People are also grossly overstating the difficulty of it I think)
How's your prep going?

Happy to hear it! Idk you always struck me as someone who had the skills and confidence to do well, so I am sure you got at the LEAST a 170.
If you could go back would you bother doing anything differently as far as how you allocated your time to the newer stuff vs. the older stuff? Do you think it is worth Pt'ing the older tests as well?
Anyways, my prep is going well. Work is crazy so I have sort of been doing the best I can with both. When I first started prepping after graduation I was free to prep like 6-8 hours a day. Now I can only really prep once I get home from work so I needed to postpone until Feb/June 2017.

Re: The Official December 2016 Study Group - Time to register! New Poll!
I started prepping at the beginning of September. I'm doing the conventional 3 months of prep. On this most recent PT, I got -3 LR1, -7 RC, -7 LR2, -3 LG. The -7 on the second LR section was uncharacteristic of me. I think it was fatigue setting in at that point, which is something I anticipate becoming less of a problem with the more PT's I do.Barack O'Drama wrote:Oh, well, in that case, I think you're in a decent spot. Yeah, you are doing great for the timeline you have presented. Everyone has a different timeline for how they progress, but I'd imagine if you kept training relentlessly you could probably achieve your goal. Keep up the good work! its def hard to predict, but if you are persistent at it you are more likely to achieve your goal.Barack O'Drama wrote:180orDie wrote:I started prepping at the beginning of September. TBH, I dunno. I'm doing something on the side right now and kind of just realized how many 50s-70s I didn't do, and I suppose that it would have been beneficial to do more of them... granted, I may have done a lot of them as individual questions/question types. TBH, I don't think the test has changed all that much IMO. I don't really think RC passages are harder than older ones... maybe one or two harder more 'ehh' questions... LR I don't find harder...LG not really either.
Ah well, it's good you're giving yourself more time. I kind of wish that I had another two weeks before the sept test, but any more would have been too much hah

I got #7 wrong an easy NA question. to be fair, i did glance over it when i read it. im kind of surprised i didn't go like -3/-4, there were a few tough ones in here. Questions 20 and 26 i only got because of POE.

Been going through Manhattan LG and really like it... I def can attest to it being stronger compared to the LG Bible. I think going through the material a second time is definitely better and you are able to utilize and retain everything since the material not so foreign.. The first few chapters of learning LGs I think is so foreign that you aren't able to utilize the info in the prepbook, but now its great.

So much truth to this! I felt the same way after going through MLSAT LG after the LG Bible.

It makes so much sense...The first run through any book you are just trying to figure out what the fuck is going on haha--and thus, you aren't able to truly hone in and build a strong foundation and pay attention to what is important. This will definitely fill in any gaps I haveBarack O'Drama wrote:jagerbom79 wrote:Been going through Manhattan LG and really like it... I def can attest to it being stronger compared to the LG Bible. I think if you struggle with weird games then you should find all the weird games and drill them all. Maybe you will begin to see patterns in them.nimbus cloud wrote:You guess reckon it's still a good idea to review Manhattan LG for someone who has a pretty strong foundation but struggles with weird games?

Spent the day reviewing Flaw questions. It was pretty depressing actually, but I'm hoping this intense review will make me better and able to recognize them on game day.
I watched this girl's VLOG on youtube at a uni in Southern California, she was funny documenting every aspect of her law school experience. That said, it really motivated me to review hard core lol.
