Noise During December 2015 Exam

Post by JollySnowman » Sat Dec 05, 2015 5:55 pm

Hi everyone. I wrote the exam this morning and the first three sections were fine. During the break, this guy comes into the room who wasn't even writing in our room and opens several windows. I was sitting behind one of those windows. Before the break is over, he closes all the windows, but the window behind me wasn't closed properly. There was still a small crack which let in traffic noise, such as honking, cars starting and accelerating. My seat was about 5 meters from the road. I couldn't concentrate during the last two sections and had to cancel the exam. When I left the room early I saw the guy who had opened and closed the windows during the break in the hallway. He pointed to a stairwell and said I can leave using that stairwell. I assume the guy was a hall monitor or something. I am wondering if I have any recourse regarding this. Can they allow me to rewrite the exam for free next time?

I mean one of those windows was directly behind my seat. It was only a few inches away from my head.

honestly, probably not. Noise going on outside is about the same as noise going on inside this time of year. People will be sneezing, coughing, being annoying cause that's how people are, and whatnot. I had two problems in mine, but not worth complaining about. First a dude's phone went off during section 3 or 4 for my test and I wanted to murder him for 1.lying about having his phone on him, and 2, not sucking it up and just turning it off instead of letting it go through 2 missed calls AND an alarm. Then this chick kept sneezing and this idiot kept saying bless you to her like 45 times

You should have gotten his name. It's worth a shot. Worst they can say is "no", but point is you tried.
