I never saw JLaw in your Tar until now, and now I feel stupid for never realizing it.theugg wrote:Yes!!!!!!!cub1014 wrote:Sounds good to me. I'd rather stick to your advice about not thinking too far ahead before we get scores back. Just cuz I'm not 100% sure, that is Jennifer Lawrence as your TAR right?theugg wrote:Seriously. Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
pretty fuckin scared thinking about the test.
anyone else been getting nightmares about gray day?
i've gone over all the ones that i thought were tough but i'm more worried about the ones that i didnt think were problematic...
historically i've gotten more assblasted by those than the actual ones i felt iffy about

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
Once you all get your scores, would you please post your section breakdowns and expected scores
this would help us december takers a better idea of how much drop can occur on the test day

I am confused at your response but I actually think I may have figured out the original statement myself. They're perhaps saying that, if you *really* want to work in Nashville, it's probably better to go to Vandy than NYU.The Abyss wrote:That's missing Cornell, and Michigan, UPenn, NW, Chicago, Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, etc. All these schools have first dibs at NYC, not Fordam, or Brooklyn or whatever.ffamran wrote:Uhh? What schools outside T14 do you guys think provide the best employment opportunities, big law & non-big, in NYC ?
First depends what you want to do, e.g. Big Law, PI
Depends what region you want to be in - A top regional school like TX or Vandy may be better for employment than a higher ranked school which is in NY, for example.

I somehow took "outside t14" for "outside NYC".ffamran wrote:I am confused at your response but I actually think I may have figured out the original statement myself. Your tar doesn't match your comments though. You countered my Swanson post earlier with talks of Vodka. And Vodka is a deplorable alcohol substitute.oldercoldervoice wrote:I hope I'm judged exclusively by my tar.The Abyss wrote:I really hope folks don't judge based on my 'tar. I hope everyone was suitably confused when I started talking about how hot the Canadian prime minister is. That whole conversation was supremely un-Swanson-like.The Abyss wrote:Your tar doesn't match your comments though. You countered my Swanson post earlier with talks of Vodka. I fall asleep getting my son down and miss this -- Abyss is pretty spot on here. I turned down a larger offer from WUSTL (Dean's Fellowship, full-tuition) in favor of Emory for pretty much the same reasons. At ASW there was repeated mention of elite litigation boutiques. Without an NALP report any kind of confirmation is going to be unreliable, but older Emory threads seem to suggest a robust near-market placement in Atlanta. Unless you're from the midwest (if you want to move there, I don't think WUSTL will help enough without ties), go to Emory. But neither places well outside of their region. The Abyss wrote:Emory. At least you are in a better market, a better city, etc. Both throw out a lot of money. But I'd rather spend 3 years in ATL than St. Louis and ATL is the better legal market overall I would think.candidlatke wrote: I hear WUTSTL's pretty chill (even chiller by the fact that it's a free app) though its distance from major markets is troublesome for a school in its position/rank

TheProdigal, I'm confused. Are you an Emory student or admit?TheProdigal wrote:

Emory helps when you have some Southern connection.TheProdigal wrote:I fall asleep getting my son down and miss this -- Abyss is pretty spot on here.
