Would it? I noticed a lot of you are not doing LSAT work that day. Thoughts?

Stupid. It'll just make you more nervous. Do relaxing activities that keep your mind off the test.

I did it and I psyched myself out. Refrain from studying if you can.

I'm going do two reading comps, LR review, and 4 logic games. If I go a day without practicing, I feel slightly slower the next day. So despite traditional advice on this (see above) I think it will work for me.

Honestly I did a full 5 section practice test the day before I took the LSAT. It was a confidence builder and I performed very well on the test the next day. That's not to say that you should do that, but rather that there is not just one best way to go. Do whatever you feel like (within reason) and don't worry about it.

Do whatever you normally do. You've been taking PTs every Saturday at this point for a while. What do you normally do the Friday before these PTs? If its take the day off, do that. If its studying, do that. Never understood why people would follow these ultra precise study schedules for weeks/months and then just because its the real test and not a PT change everything.

This is right, of course.

People do all kinds of weird stuff in the days leading up to a test like this. "I'm going to bed at 9 every night, cutting down my caffeine, and eliminating gluten from my diet!" Then folks wonder why they scored 10 points below their PT average on test day. Just act like it's a normal PT. That's the point of doing all the prep and taking all the PTs—so that the actual test will feel routine.

I'm reviewing lightly and just doing some LR problems to keep my momentum going. I typically do that before my PTs that I take on Saturdays anyway, so I figured that would be the best route.

usually I study somewhat lightly the day before I PT. I think I'll do that so I don't feel paranoid on the Saturday. I wont go hard. and for those saying "you won't learn anything new" that isn't really what I am expecting to do. Its more for peace of mind I guess..

No it wouldn't be stupid as long as you know your body and you know you're not burned out from all the studying. The best advice is just to relax and make sure your mind is fresh for Saturday. If you haven't learned it by now you're not going to learn it now. However, if you think that it's beneficial to you then by all means. Just remember that the most important thing is to be ready for the next morning. I'm taking it in December and I don't plan on doing anything Thursday and Friday. I won't even be working on Friday. By Friday afternoon I'm exhausted from the week. I don't go to sleep friday nights, I pass out. I want to recoup a little on Friday and not lose a couple of points because I'm still tired from the week.

I took Wednesday and Thursday off, so I'm putting some work on practice sections today, and I'm surprised at how much I've improved after a small break. Different strokes!

MistakenGenius wrote:It's certainly not stupid. If you feel like you need to do some studying, then by all means go for it. I basically did what seashell did because I wanted to stay sharp and be at my fastest on Saturday. It obviously worked for me, but to each his own. I will say, I've never had test anxiety in my life and handle pressure like a champ. Some people have serious problems with that that can majorly affect your performance. If you have the tendency to be a bitch about tests and have problems with insomnia or psyching yourself out, I'd be very careful about doing a whole test or anything the day before.

You know what works best for you. Do whatever is going to keep you sharpest for tomorrow!
