How to maintain concentration?

Post by sarahsala » Mon Aug 10, 2015 7:38 pm

Hi,

I just did my first timed PT, and found it is so hard to maintain concentration. Toward the end my head feels heavier and heavier and could not think clearly ( and my neck hurts). I could not even answer questions which I would be able to if it is untimed.
How can I maintain full concentration? What do you do when you feel tired?
And on the test day, what would you recommend to do during the break?

Do not panic, this happened to me on my first PT. I was mentally exhausted by the end of it. Building stamina is something that happens after consistent practice, both in timed PT format and drilling, which should increase your familiarity with the question types etc. Think of it this way: taking the exam is like making a trek through the Amazon. This was your first trip, easily the most challenging. You'll make the same trek many times, and by the time you take the test, you'll be incredibly familiar with the terrain.
