Can I improve in time?

My diagnostic was a 155 (beginning of May) and I've recently started doing full timed PTs, scoring mid-160s. I'm kind of disappointed and afraid because I was hoping I'd be at 170 or so by now. I will be taking the October test. I am on PT 47. I just got some Cambridge LR drilling packets and hope they will live up to their reputation.
Do I have enough time? I just want to score as high as I possibly can by the time of the test. Also, does there tend to be a steady improvement the last few weeks right before the test? Will PTs in the high 60s/70+ be different from PT 40-60 at all? Do people score worse because these are newer tests and subtly different? If so, can they bounce back and learn their way in and out?
