What if I score lower on retake?

I got a ??? on June test. PT was around 175 (didn't use all -- I started from PT1 last year thinking I would prepare for this test "extremely thoroughly", but due to laziness and other commitment at the end of May I realized to my horror that I was still in low 40's. So I skipped PT 50's and 60's and directly attempted PT70+). There is indeed possibility that I will break 175 in October, but I cannot guarantee anxiety or other nasty things will not strike me again, and it may even turn out to be worse.

So will a lower score on retake hurt my chances? I'm an international (no GPA) so with ??? I'm out for HYS anyway. From that down will I be worse off? Thanks.

Huh? I read from multiple places something like "... Score often rise slightly on retake, but there is possibility that it may go down." This rhetoric makes me cringe, thinking it is a horrible thing to have.

Your score might go down but it doesn't matter. Law schools care about your best take. A lower second take doesn't hurt you.

Thanks, but then why doesn't everybody just sign up for 3 tests in a row and just see how high they happen to get?

Not everyone is interested in getting through such gruesome experience for 3 times

People are dumb. There's thousands of law students out their who didn't break out of the 150s
