Hello! I'm just curious (and maybe looking for a little motivation): how did your LSAT score compare to your SAT/ACT? How much (or how little) did you study for each?

When I took the SAT a few years back, I got a 1900 (minimal studying/preparation). I'd always assumed I'd score 2100+, so needless to say I was very disappointed. Guess you can say you get what you study for. That being said, I'll be studying INTENSELY for this year's December test and aiming for a 170 or above.

So without further adoooo, what were your SAT/ACT and LSAT scores and how long did you study for each test?

1400 (old scale)/34, no studying at all.
171 with minimal studying.

Same ballpark, percentile-wise.

Did people actually study for the SAT? How?

169 LSAT / 26 ACT
3.92 GPA / 2.4 GPA

33/172

One practice test each. I scored a 36 on the reading portion of the ACT which corresponds well to the LSAT in my opinion.

2050 with a fair amount of studying (second take, first was ~1850, with studying)
173 with a lot of studying

1380/1600 sat
166 LSAT

same way you study for the lsat?

SAT: 22xx without studying, LSAT diagnostic was 164, got into the 170s after a couple PTs and reading the LG Bible. No official score yet but there's some data for you.

Wow, shows my mindset in high school. I was completely unaware that there were practice SATs out there. I took it cold, 1350/1600, don't remember writing because no one cares about that. Maybe I should've studied.

Huh. I see a lot of "lol how can people not study for the LSAT/know what's on it don't they do research about their future?" around here and I'm inclined to agree with them, but I never realized the irony in the fact that I was the exact same way as those people in high school. I guess UG made me into the neurotic I am today

1420 SAT, no studying
178 LSAT, three months of pretty devoted studying.

2310 SAT, with some half assed studying
170 LSAT, with reasonably hard studying

33 ACT, 2300 SAT with minimal studying.
Got a 164 on the Feb 2013 LSAT with moderate studying but wasn't in the right place on test day. Hoping for an improved score from this June 2015 version which I studied pretty hard for.
I'm of the opinion that the correlation between the two tests only goes so far.

2160 with a prep course & some studying on my own
168 with a prep course & some studying on my own

1160- no studying at all
167- studied like my life depended on it

1450 (Little to no studying)
32 (28 on writing, 33+ on all other sections)
173 (Considerable studying; 2 to 3 points below my PT average)
