How completely do you diagram your games?

Out of curiosity, how completely do you diagram the logic games?
I feel as though diagramming reduces my chances of error at the expense of speed. I'm using the Powerscore Bible right now, and creating a diagram or two isn't so bad. However, when I have to create a couple of different diagrams with subtemplates for each (because of split possibilities), it takes up a lot of my time.
For those of you with skilled and experienced with this section, what worked best for you? Is it ok to create a base diagram and kind of work things out mentally for some of the questions?
