I am currently enrolled in a Kaplan course. Over the last two months, I have improved my score about 5 points. I am unhappy with this progress and plan on taking the LSAT in June. I am considering getting a private tutor from Kaplan, but am unsure as I noticed elsewhere on this forum that people tend to have a very negative attitude towards Kaplan.

Can people recommend other resources that might help as a private tutor or something of that nature in addition to the Kaplan course I'm enrolled in and explain why they dislike Kaplan?

Have you thought about self-studying using their books along with the Cambridge Drilling packets? I took a live course for $1200 and will say that I shouldve spent that money elsewhere.

Take the online velocity lsat course, it's super cheap compared to in person classes

If you have the mental discipline to self study a tutor is completely unnecessary. 1500 is ridiculous and you can raise your score tremendously just by buying the books and using those. I would recommend Manhattan and power score. Also consider 7sage which has an online course for 200ish

On LG I'm averaging 90% correct or more with 5 minutes leftover. RC & LR are worse, idk if companies are known to be better at certain ones over others. A blueprint tutor who got a 172 is available in my area. Thanks for all the input btw! Yeah I've noticed in the Kaplan books they always talk about 'The Kaplan Method' and i dont really care about the Kaplan method.

I would pick up The LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim to start. It's a much more cost efficient investment than splurging on another course for now.

Remember though the goal is to to get the most scholarship $ at whatever school you decide to attend.

I am not advocating for any test prep company but in a hypo: if you got a 50K scholarship with X LSAT score with self studying or got a 60K scholarship with a better score from studying and paying $1,000 for a prep course the 9K difference is significant enough to make the prep course worth it.

However, its an individual choice and there is self study needed even in a prep course for it to be worth the investment
