Here is how I diagrammed this stimulus.
(HI)- human intelligence
(HE)- human emotions
(C)- computer
(DI)- display intelligence
HI --> HE
C --> ~E
C--> ~DI
naturally I looked for ~E --> ~DI which was obviously nowhere to be found.
I guess we are supposed to equate emotion and human emotion as the same thing. I suppose also we are to assume that human intelligence and displaying intelligence are the same?
In that case we can diagram as follows:
(I) - human intelligence/displaying intelligence
(E) - emotions/human emotions
(C)- computers
we get:
I --> E
C --> ~E
conlusion: C --> ~I
take the contrapositive of the first premise yields ~E --> ~I and combine with second premise yields C--> ~E --> ~I
so the ~E --> ~I block is the assumption necessary to make the conclusion follow.
However, can someone speak to why assuming human emotions and emotions are the same in addition to intelligence/displaying intelligence?
I could imagine someone looking for the assumption that having intelligence is required for being able to display intelligence, or something along those lines...
