Sounds like you've got an awesome hookup at whatever job you're at now, that's awesome. Do you have a preference between in person and online courses? I did 7sage twice and had huge benefits from it, but I can't speak to any other courses. However - you could possibly take an online course and use the remaining 500-1000 to spend on a tutor. That way you can hone in on your weaknesses with the course and subsequently approach your tutor with a clear list of objectives for what you'd like to work on.

I hired a tutor who was a former Kaplan instructor for about $45 an hour. While the hours of self study is what really reinforced the material, he was able to offer tips and advice on taking the actual exam that self study testers won't necessarily find for themselves. I'd estimate my investment at around $400, and believe it was well worth it.
