I'm guessing some of your trouble could be due to switching times. I work full time and actually do better in the morning, so taking a test later in the evening would be difficult for me.
I think you're on the right track with taking a day off and listening to your body/mind. Drilling would probably be a good thing for you to do more often and would certainly help rebuild your confidence. Making drilling my base with PTs added in has helped me boost my score.

And yes, I think you'll definitely adapt to the earlier time of the test. It might take a few more days than you expect.

Thanks man. It's really helpful to get some feedback. So how do you drill LR and RC? For LR I like to do either 1/6 or 1/12 or a cambridge packet depending on how big it is, and do those timed, but not moving on until im sure of my answer.
The only way I've meaningfully drilled RC is by just doing sections and reading non-fiction material, if you would call that drilling.
I usually do between 20-40 LR questions, 2-4 LG, or 2-4 RC passages. Depending on how much time I have, I might only practice one section or all three. I actually do mine untimed, but I haven't had a timing problem with LR. I just started studying RC and do have timing issues with that, so probably should start timing! If I get a question wrong, I make a note of it and put it on my list to review again later.
Reading non-fiction material is definitely drilling!

Sometimes I have trouble getting through long articles because my attention wanes, so reading more and more has definitely helped me.

Are you retaking, too?
