How many prepbooks does one need to go through?

I've read Manhattan RC, Powerscore LR (didn't find it helpful), Manhattan LR (amazing) and Powerscore LG (decent except for Pure Sequencing and Grouping Games).
At this point should I keep practicing with the Cambridge Packets and drilling sections/preptests until September?
Are there any useful chapters in Manhattan LG I should check out or Mike's The Trainer?

Depends. If your technique is good then you should begin to focus on timing and endurance by doing PT. If you need work on your technique, then obviously work on that with more books.

The only prep books I bought were PS LG and LR (got RC but didn't end up going through it) and honestly they were both pretty useless in the long run. Good to get an overview of the question types if you skim through them both in a week, maximum. But I devoted too much energy to them, spending time highlighting and doing the drills in each chapter. Waste of a couple weeks. After I finished the PS, my first 6 PTs were even lower than my diagnostic.
I got a hold of Kaplan's explanations, and combined with 7sage LG explanation videos and occasionally Manhattan's forums, I took PTs like crazy. I reviewed missed questions, taking brief notes along the way, denoting the question type and what key factors I missed in answering the question correctly. Rinse and repeat. I've taken 25 timed 4-section PTs in the past month and went from 155 diagnostic to 170, currently.
LG is my most problematic section, as going through the 4 games offered in the PT per day doesn't seem to be enough. I started drilling LG questions by type a few days ago.
Bad Idea Jeans alert.
If you can get most of the questions right but timing is your issue, then focus on drilling. If you're still getting lots of questions wrong, you need to spend more time with the books before going to drilling.
