Given that a good number of PTs were created before the turn of the millennium, what are some of the funnier dated references you've come across in your dedicated studies? For me, the prompt for PT#1, Section 3, Q. 15-16 takes the cake:

"Computer operating system software has become increasingly standardized. But when a large business with multiple, linked computer systems uses identical operating system software on all of its computers, a computer vandal who gains access to one computer automatically has access to the data on all the computers. Using a program known as a "virus", the vandal can then destroy much of the data on all the computers..."

"Meanwhile, technology has made it possible for individuals to interact via personal computer with others who are geographically distant. Advocates claim that these computer conferences, in which large numbers of participants communicate by typing comments that are immediately read by other participants and responding immediately to those comments they read, function as communities that can substitute for traditional interactions with neighbors."

lol, love the "...it would be unfortunate IF..." final sentence! We could certainly infer what the authors attitude would be about FB, Twitter, etc. and the current popularity of social media and smart phones! ha ha

Would be a good topic for a new comparative RC passage.

One early PT's reading section included a piece on voicemail as a fangled new technology and the advantages it held over traditional answering machines. That made me chuckle.

I encountered that in my PT (30) today and it surprised me into rereading it.
