incorporate drilling and PTs? thoughts on this process

i know drilling is super important so what i am doing currently till july 19th is drilling all the cambridge packets i have. i am not doing each and every packet to its completion, but enough for me to feel comfortable with it(meaning: knowing what answers are right and what answers are wrong for each question stem). for example, i have drilled all the questions for Sufficient Assumptions and about 120 of the 284 for Flaw. for LG, i would have done all the games. and for RC, i would have done all the passages.

my hope is that by starting july19th for PTs, I can fit in about 30 PTs before test day (PTs 40-71). I would take a PT every other day. So for example on Saturday morning I have taken a PT timed. Then using the blind review method, I will go back to the questions I wasn't 100% sure on or left blank and answer them. Then saturday evening: i would then use the free 7sage LSAT tool to enter my answers for the normal and blind review and see take note of the question types I missed. then i would spend all of sunday going back to the specific cambridge packet and further drilling that type. monday: new PT. tuesday: review monday PT.

i hope by doing this, I would constantly be eliminating my weakness.

is this a viable strategy? are 30PTs enough? should i spend more time drilling packets to completion?

Drilling is way more important than PTs. PTs are just to get timing and pacing down, drilling is where you actually learn how to do the LSAT. A PT every other day is a bad plan: you'll get burned out. More drilling fewer PTs.

i've always sucked at timing; that's one of the reasons I wanted to get more PTs under my belt. but thank you for that thought, i hadn't considered the burn out.

Is my idea of not finishing to completion all the packets a bad idea as well?

We have a similar schedule. I finished the first round of drilling LG and just started drilling LR. I have finished Sufficient, Necessary and Flaws. I plan to take PTs around July 10th. I would not take a PT every other day. You need more time to review mistakes. I would suggest take 2 PTs every week and do some drills in between.

You're absolutely right to want to do PTs to get timing down. You just don't need to worry about it just yet. You can't practice timing if you still don't have a tight grasp of the material itself. I wouldn't plan to not finish the packets, but not finishing them once you are where you need to be isn't a problem necessarily.
