Are mechanical erasers (the kind that click) allowed?

The rules state that you can bring an eraser, but "no erasers with sleeves". By sleeves I'm assuming they are referring to the thin cardboard sleeve that comes on block erasers, however I have been using a mechanical eraser in a plastic holster that clicks when the eraser comes out.

Does anyone know if these are allowed on the test? I find these erasers to be much more precise than the large block erasers which can be unwieldy, especially when just erasing individual lines.

I highly doubt it. They're not explicitly mentioned, but the prohibition on both mechanical pencils and erasers with sleeves makes it pretty clear that mechanical erasers are probably not allowed. Don't risk it; use a regular eraser.

The list of forbidden items should only be taken as a general guideline, basically you cannot take with you anything that might cause a distraction for other test-takers.

(However this does not mean there will not be ample distractions at your test center, like the clock that made an incredibly loud CLICK noise every 5 minutes I had in mine)
