Post your reading speed/retention and your RC section scores here. I'm curious what kind of correlation can be drawn between these two factors. If you don't know your speed/retention, you can test it online.

There are probably scientific studies on this issue on Jstor. If you don't have a Jstor account, ask me and I'll help you out.

Reading speed, beyond what's needed in college, is irrelevant. Focus on content; read slow.

Better to take 4 minutes to read a passage and have a complete understanding of it than to spend 2 and look back on every question.

This thread draws no conclusions, which makes the last two posts irrelevant to the topic. I read quickly without trying and comprehend just fine, but didn't want to post my numbers because I don't think an outlier's info is a meaningful data point.

Thanks, Manilla. PMing you.

You may not be but as soon as anyone posts anything about a correlation between reading fast and good RC scores people will start blowing up the Prep forum asking about what the best speed reading course is.
Sorry to have preempted you though.

I read really fast and don't have trouble with comprehension or retention hardly ever, but I did notice that I did better on the test when I actively slowed down my reading speed.
