Top Law Schools

I studied pretty hard for about six months. got 155 on my feb test and now i feel like i cant get a higher grade. I feel like that was the best i could've done. anyone else having these feelings? when does someone realize they've hit their peak and they should probably look towards plan B?

I feel like there isn't much more I can improve on. Ive improved on everything except RC. Im just very inconsistent. I hit 20+ depending on the section and as low as 14/15 on other days.

To be honest the schools you'll have to consider with a 155 have bad employment records. I would seriously consider other grad school programs as your plan B. There are plenty of things you can do that will pay just as much as law, or as much on balance with the debt you'll put yourself into, that cost less in time and tuition. There are many other jobs that could be just as satisfying and meaningful but are less visible.
If you are absolutely dead set on law school, I recommend that you check out lawschooltransparency.com and see which schools fit your stat profile that have the best employment to debt ratio in a state in which you'd like to practice.

I can understand not being able to get to a certain level on LR and RC based on English fluency/skills/education, but OP you should make sure you're getting -0 or -1 in LG at the very least.

I prepped by going through the power score bibles twice. once i got familiar with the basics. I just kept doing preptests. its been about 6 months. a few hours a day.

I dont thoroughly review for RC, i didnt think it helps much. I think it all about retention of the material, there isnt a trick to it IMO. With LG and LR i would say I do review but i have never tried blind review. Thats something I will try this time and also the LR cambridge bundles have been suggested. So im gonna give those a shot.

"hard" prep is no "smart" prep. Unfortunately, you failed to do what most would consider "smart" prep and that is probably why you are peaking. The average score on the LSAT is an abysmal 151. Now I am not saying that everyone should be able to hit 180, 170, or even 160. What I am saying is that there is no way that LSAT takers suck that much as a whole. People don't improve because they fail to review properly. Blind review, imho, is basically the only way to see results.

Try the Manhattan books and The LSAT Trainer. Do blind reviews. Do timed prep tests. I realize you've invested six months of your time, already, but as someone else mentioned, you have to study the right way to see the difference. The fact that you are inconsistent means that you don't understand how to approach those questions.

Don't let your frustration get in the way of a potentially high score. Please retake.

suppose you are a non-native-English-speaker, if you want to improve your score, first bring your LG to -1, then drill every kinds of LR questions separately. I got a 160 with more than 12 RC errors, still try to get better.

You definitely can improve on RC, and it certainly isn't about memorizing all the info in a passage. If 155 is really the highest you can score with serious prep, you probably shouldn't go. Not trying to be mean, but it just likely won't be worthwhile for you.

thank you all for the motivating words. Ive already registered for June, so might as well switch up the tactics and give it my all.

TLS, though painfully realistic, is often an encouraging bunch. However, I would stress not to get so tied down with the date that you take an LSAT - be more tied down with the score range. The LSAT is not going anywhere and waiting 3 more months to take the LSAT in September can be the difference between being gainfully employed and living in your parents' basement. I wish I was kidding

Have you had anyone else review the questions you're missing for patterns? From your description of your prep, it sounds like you've done it all on your own. That works for some people, but it doesn't work for everyone; some people have trouble identifying their own weak points and figuring out exactly where they're taking a wrong turn. And, of course, recognizing the problem is the key to solving it.

No I did not have anyone review my mistakes. I prepped all on my own. I also did not do blind reviews neither did I drill by type. And I didnt drill RC passges. All of which im going to change this time around.

ha! Oh man you haven't even NEARLY hit your peak if this is what you call "studying" . I think you got a long and arduous (but very fruitful) process ahead of you. A 170+ will take hard work and dedication, potentially a lackluster social life too, but it is definitely possible.
