Old vs New LR questions
I've been drilling the LR Cambridge packets currently, doing the questions from prep tests 1-39, and saving 40 and upwards for full length tests and whatnot, is this fine, because I've heard that the older tests LR are rather different than the newer tests LR sections.

Re: Old vs New LR questions
The overall question type distributions per section and other stylistic stuff is different in older tests vs newer tests but the structure and logic of each of the question types/individual questions isn't much different except for some occasional odd/weird questions on many of the really old tests from the 1990s.
For drilling purposes, old LR is perfectly fine but for section/full test practice, older sections are not representative of current full sections. There are some stylistic differences with older vs newer questions, but that is true if you compare any LR sections that are 5 or more years different in age since the subtle styles are always slowly evolving/changing slightly over time.
There are several more significant differences in the layout of very recent modern LR sections compared to much older ones that are important to become aware of leading up to test day when in full timed PT mode for phase 3 but nothing that matters for drilling and learning the basics during phase 1 and 2 of prep.
