If you can learn to read RC passages for pleasure, it would certainly be a big help.

It depends. Do you read dense articles on new discoveries surrounding neurotransmitters for pleasure? If so, then by all means, keep it up! :P

And there is something it be said for adding in dense reading into your schedule to increase your stamina/comprehension, etc, but I consider that part of LSAT training.

I think otherwise it's like any other moderately stimulating mental activity. Doing it instead of stabbing yourself with a fork and humming idly to yourself? Probably a good trade-off. Doing it instead of reviewing LSAT material in depth and with purpose? Probably not.

Unless you need a break to avoid burnout, in which case anything other than LSAT stuff is ideal.

In other words, I wouldn't overthink it. Read whatever you want in your relaxation time.

Seconding Christine here - it's certainly not going to hurt you, as long as you're still able to devote adequate time to studying for the LSAT. Unless your pleasure-reading is particularly dense stuff, it's probably not going to actually help you, but that shouldn't stop you from doing it!

I read the first three a song of ice and fire books while I was studying for the LSAT, and it helped me tremendously.

Do it as long as it doesn't interfere with you reading as many RC passages as possible. And remember that reading for pleasure is supposed to be fun, not tedious. Stop if it's going to mentally exhaust you.

LSAT prep is important, but it should not take over your life. Read or do whatever else for pleasure so you don't friggin' go insane.
