I usually score -0 to -2 with LG and I don't practice very often. Maybe 2xs a week I will do a timed section just to make sure I'm keeping up with it. If you're range is close to this I don't think you will forget your skills you've learned by cutting back your lg time for more LR time.

How well do you do in the lg section?

After drilling 1-40 3 times over, I am doing quite well, only missing a question if I misread a rule or answer choice/question.
Then I think this approach should be fine for you. If you slack off a week on LG just make sure you do some intensive work the following. Maybe do an untimed one just to get back into the swing of things and then do the other games under strict time restraints. Also, make sure you are using scantrons.

One tip - keep getting mixed practice. I've seen folks on the boards whose scores in the other sections drop after drilling one section type almost exclusively. Happened to me, too...just a heads up.
