It is not worse to cancel than it is to get a low score.

When you say you underperformed, do you mean you did worse than you were normally doing during PTs? That is, did you not normally have to guess on any questions? Also, how long and how much had you been studying?

Yes, did much worse than my PT normal. I didn't have to guess on any questions on PT. I guessed on a total of 8 to 10 on the real test due to no time in various sections. Studying for more than 6 months.

If there's any evidence of cancel not being worse than low-score or vice-versa, where to find it?
A low score looks worse than a cancel. A cancel shows some level of self-awareness into how you performed.

I thought so; thanks for your post. I'd been bent on cancelling but the best-case scenario of lucky guesses is making me do a second look. I guessed at least 8 and rushed other 2 or 3. Even with luck I'd be 7-8 pts below my normal. Is that low enough for cancel?
Yes, if you really think you did that poorly.
