What was your cold diagnostic (if you did one) and how long (time and # of tests) did it take you to finally hit 170 or above?

Diagnostic: 151
June test: 172

Studied for 6-7 months (including a Manhattan prep course). Took somewhere between 20-30 tests I'd guess, but used essentially all of the available material between prep tests and drilling.

Cold: 158

Probably five tests before my first 170. Took about 25-35 more, though.

ditto, but my cold was a 157

Cold 168.
Three tests until 170+.
Took 25 in total.

Not sure how long it took me to get to 170, but I took my cold pt in November and took the actual test in Feb. I drilled from the earlier test and then did maybe 15-20 full length pts.

Cold, but after practicing the process for Logic Games, I got a 165

I cracked 170 on my 5th PrepTest.

It took 2 real tries and 35 PrepTests to hit 170 for real.

Don't let a low diagnostic lower your expectations or make you feel like you're doomed. Elle Woods scored in the 140s on her early diagnostics and after studying all of Greek Week, she scored a 179. And a lot of people on TLS have seen huge score improvements too.

Cracked the 170 barrier on my 4th PT and did about 13-15 full tests total...I spent the majority of my time/material drilling sections

Broke 170 on my 6th PT thanks to this site. My first 4 tests were basically taken as a study method, with no drill whatsoever. Stumbled onto this site, with about 7 weeks until test day and drilled a ton. Hit 170+ the second PT after I started a deliberate plan (pithypike). Never dropped below on a PT again for the last 12. Still wish I hadn't porked away two LG questions on game day!

Diagnostic (PT7): 168 or 169, ill have to look when I get home. I had taken a fake LSAT prior to that but everyone told me to burn it.

Took me one more to break 170. Taken four since - all 170s but one was another 169.

didnt hit it till actual test day. did all PTS in Testmasters course (15 or so) + 80% all the other homework and problems, which came from actual tests obviously

PT62 a few days ago: 170

I took about four strictly timed tests since then. It took about a month for me to hit 165+. Since that time, I devoted almost all of my study effort to drilling. Just started PTing with 62 the other day and hit 170, with plenty of room still for improvement, particularly on RC and timing in LG.

diag: 153 (before college. i had no background in games, good now but lost then.)
diag, beginning of prep about ~2 months ago: 163

ive taken about 7 PTs

Diagnostic: 150 even
Final Official: 176

Took at least 6 months before I was at 170, although I didn't study hardcore for a while into it.

Weird story. First ever diagnostic was a 158, taken in college in 2002. By my 5th or 6th PT I had broken into 170+ territory, but then I changed career plans for personal reasons and endedup joining the Navy. in 2011 I decided for sure I wanted to go to law school again and started PTing again. My diagnostic was a 164 after a layoff of several years. I probably took 40 or 50 PTs total with 1 x 180, 2 x 177, 4 x 174 and lots of low 170X and high 160X.
