Can anyone explain a LR question to me? I don’t understand part of the stimulus and that’s why I don’t see why the answer is correct. If you have the Cambridge packets it is the Complete the passage packet question#15 (difficulty level 3). This question is also on PT20, section 4, question 13. It is about the white pine trees. There is a sentence in the stimulus that says, “for this reason, the trees cannot regenerate in their own shade.” Not sure how this affects the answer and whether I am missing some common knowledge. I got stuck between answer A and E and don’t see why choice A is right. The stimulus never mentions anything about age of these trees so I’m assuming that regenerating has something to do with it??
