the word "critical"

I have a question regarding the word critical (synonyms include crucial, vital, very important, etc.) as it is used in the LSAT. There are several definitions of this term and I am wondering if it is enough to imply necessity on the LSAT. It seems less clear than say essential or necessary.

It depends on the context. I think it is often used in RC to imply necessary or "key".
