I took the LSAT for the first time on Monday and I'm a bit curious about how scores are reported back to you, and I couldn't seem to find answers by Google searches, or searching this forum.

I know you get an email from LSAC, but does that email contain your score, or just a notification that you need to log into the LSAC site and view your score that way?

Do your individual sections get reported? For example, 22/25 for LR1, 23/23 for Games, etc.

Do you see individual questions that you got correct / incorrect? If so, do you see the actual stimulus for the individual question, or just what question number it appeared as on the test?

Any help is appreciated!

You get an email that lets you know the score is available. After that you can log into your LSAC account, click on your score report. It will show your 120-180 scaled score, your raw score, how you did on each section, the correct answers, and an image of your scantron answers for each section.

So you won't see the actual content of the questions? Only the letter you chose, and the letter that corresponds to the correct answer?

You will get an email with your score in it. Then you go to LSAC, and there will be a bunch of PDFs with info about your test and how you did.

No, there will be a PDF with the questions; you'll be able to look at the test.

The email actually contains the score and the percentile as well. All of the other stuff you have to download in pdf format from lsac.org

Basically I wanted to know if I need to hold my breath when I open the email or if I can wait until I log into LSAC's site.

Just a heads up, there is the potential you will have to hold your breath until the website if you wrote a special circumstances exam. When I wrote mine in November the email only said something along the lines of my October documents were ready.

Would I know right now if I took a special circumstances exam?

Yup, if you wrote PT 69 you're good. It's just if some weird thing happens like a blizzard or UPS being incompetent.

I took a make-up exam after a blizzard in Feb, my email still contained the score.

Oh okay, my mistake. My email just said:

Your October 2012 LSAT documents are now available under the LSAT tab in the LSAT Status section of your LSAC online account at http://www.lsac.org. Other test related documents (in accordance with LSAC disclosure policies) may also be available under LSAT Documents.

I think it's pretty safe to say that in 99.99% of the cases it'll be in the email.

If you get e-mails sent to your phone, it can be a very unsettling e-mail. I was just leaving work about to get into my car, and BOOM! No warning, LSAT score and percentile were right in the e-mail. That was a tough drive home.

I made sure to turn off automatic email updates on my phone, and limit the email preview on my phone and computer so that the preview wouldn't contain my score. That way I could take my sweet time getting and opening the email (note: I was still hitting "refresh" every two seconds.. but it was refreshing on my terms!).

When you get the email your eyes kind of naturally scroll down and stare at the score itself too.

Not gonna lie, that email was one of the most intense moments of my life.
