Take into account that students in the t14 that don't finish in the top half of their class aren't usually guaranteed jobs. You would be competing against people with scores of 170 and up. It can definitely be overwhelming if you aren't qualified.

Depends on GPA. There's a URM with a 156 who got into Cornell this cycle according to LSN.

You might have said it, but what kind of URM are you? For example, if you're a male AA, the boost is greater. If you're Asian, that might actually hurt your cycle. Regardless, assuming you are the type of minority that receives the boost, and assuming a good (3.5+) GPA, anything over 161 should warrant blanketing at least the lower t14.

Don't expect a 10 point cushion. It doesn't work like that.

If I was not on my phone i would link you to a thread in the urm forum called "black by the numbers" or something close to that. That thread will give you a much better understanding of where you stand with a 160+. It should be on the first page or maybe someone else can link you to it.

If you score 160+ you should def blanket CCN through T30

I don't think a low LSAT score translates into being unqualified for law school. Standardized tests smarts and school smarts just aren't equivalent.

The numbers don't lie. Information is widespread about AA students being unqualified for law school and doing poorly as a result. There's even a great article in the Economist a few weeks back about it.

Do not discuss your opinions on affirmative actions in the on-topics.

There's a lounge thread for that.

Wut. Is this true?
Ehh. There is data to suggest that Asians have a tougher time getting into elite UGs because they disproprtionally have high GPAs and SATs.

However I have not seen any data to suggest Asians have a tougher time with law school admissions than Anglos or any other non-URM / ORM.

There are schools that do give Asians a boost, but most Asians have a habit of apply to the same schools
