Velocity Study Group - October 5th
I've decided to do the Velocity full course for October. Is anyone interested in forming a study group? I am open to starting times; maybe something along the lines of 13-15 weeks before test day.

Welcome. I'm not asking for much other than the people who plan to do Velocity for October to chime in once in a while. Not going to show up at your house

I'll hang out too! Finished the LG portion a while back. I've looked into LR and RC and my first impression is that LR is solid while RC might not be that great. A friend who used Velocity says the RC section really helped him, though, so I'll definitely try it.

Quick question--> Is there a Velocity LG games book that I can buy from like Amazon or do I have to register for the course to get the book?
I already read Powerscore LG and Manhattan LG but I heard Velocity is good so I want to try it but I am not willing to pay 325 for the course.

I don't see that you can buy the book on Amazon or anything like that. I think the only way is through the course. Maybe you could get the material second hand???nmillette wrote:Quick question--> Is there a Velocity LG games book that I can buy from like Amazon or do I have to register for the course to get the book?

Hi, thank you for the response, hopefully I would be able to get one second hand from someone.tuffyjohnson wrote:I don't see that you can buy the book on Amazon or anything like that. Former velocity student, had success with the methods and know them pretty intimately, so feel free to ask any questions.

I'm very early with this, but let me say, um, I really like Dave's approach to games. Have to say it is a better approach than I learned in Powerscore/7 sage/Blueprint. Maybe it's just the way I think, but I'd rather "plug and chug" and attack than sit an wait for magical moments. Also, the order of attacking questions as well as recording full possibilities are methods I did not learn previously.

Order of attack is golden (and obvious once you do it) but I would recommend staying open to 7sage-type inferences. They save tons of time. Why not combine the best of Velocity with the best of 7sage, ya know?

I'm thinking of buying this. Anyone have any testimonials?

To early for me to give a testimonial but use the search function. Lots of praise going on these boards.

Re: Velocity Study Group - October 5th
Anyone else spending their 4th of July with Dave Hall? I am! Just finished his whole series on conditional logic. It was good but I still like how Shinners/Blueprint handles unless/without/except --> replace with [if not].
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
