Was scoring 172-175. Last two tests 165. Feeling Tired?

Post by ampm » Thu Jun 06, 2013 7:58 pm

As the title says, thats my situation right now.
The tests I got the 165 on were the 2 latest ones Oct + Dec 2012. 5 - 6 tests before that I was averaging 172-175.
I think rather than take any more PTs I should just review at my own pace for the next few days and then just take the test.

Thoughts?

Maybe take just one more practice test before Sunday (tomorrow or Saturday) and review it. Also, review them and figure out why you dropped significantly on the last two tests, down to 165 from 172+ range is a pretty big drop. Why did you miss soo many more questions on those two tests? You need to figure that out since you are talking about a raw point difference of at least 10 points, which is pretty big.

I can tell the hit came from the LR and RC sections. LR I usually get -1 to -3 and RC I usually get -2 to -3. LG was fine as always.

What would be a good PT to take to gauge whether it is indeed being tired? I'll take it on Sat.

It doesn't really matter which PT you use, as long as it is a recent one you haven't seen before.

Beyond just knowing you got hit hard by LR and RC on the last two practice tests, you really need to figure out precisely why you missed each of those questions. I'm sure the reason is more than and more specific than just because you were feeling tired.

You are burning out. Start taking breaks and your scores will increase.

Thanks for everyone's tips. I scored a 172 on the real deal. Appreciate everyone's advice. Soon I will come out with a post helping those taking the lsat as an underdog (working full-time, families, low gpa, orm, etc.) on how to score in the 99th percentile.
