Because if you had 5 C's then you'd have to have at least 3 paired with the same colour - which is a violation of the question stem; and you can't have more than 4 C's, so the remainder have to be W's. And it's not B because two C's could be paired with B/G and only one 1 white shade - the remaining W's could be all green.

It's asking you what must be true. So lets make a hypothetical where (B) doesn't occur to prove B wrong.

Brown, White, or Grey: B G G W G G G

Here we have 4 ceramic lamps and 3 wooden lamps.

We have one brown lamp, one white lamp, and five grey lamps.

Let's see if this hypo works:

At least four of the lamps are ceramic (Yep).

If White shade, the lamp is ceramic (Yep.)

No wooden lamp has a brown shade (Yep).

(B) tells us that two of the lamps have white shades. But in my hypo, only 1 does. And I'm not violating any rule.
