Could someone explain to me the process for this question? It is an RC question from the double Willa Cather passage. Thank you in advance!
Pas. A, lines 5-6 tells us that Cather did not depict her character's emotions directly.
Pas. B, lines 40-43 tells us narratologists like Cather did not focus on direct psychological characterization.
So both authors would agree that (E), which is depicting character emotions directly (which is a type of direct psychological characterization), would not appear in Cather's novel.
None of the other answer choices are really mentioned by either author, except (B) which Pas. B agrees with in lines 40-44 and 55-57.
